Identity Verification (IDV) confirms that talent on Lifted are who they claim to be. It helps prevent fraud and impersonation, protects both talent and clients, and increases trust and safety across the platform.
Reasons for Identity Verification
Identity verification supports platform security and regulatory compliance. You may be asked to verify your identity if:
You’re new to Lifted
You are starting work on a contract
You’re applying to restricted or location-specific roles (e.g., U.S.-only jobs)
We need to confirm account ownership (e.g., KYC compliance)
Your account was previously suspended and you are resuming activity
Lifted detects a potential mismatch or risk signal
You are selected for periodic re-verification
When Identity Verification Is Required
Identity verification is most commonly required when a contract is created, but it may be requested earlier depending on client or compliance requirements.
You must complete IDV before starting any contract
You’ll be notified via email and/or in-product prompts
Once notified, you have 7 days to complete verification
If not completed in time:
You cannot start or activate contracts
You may be restricted from applying to opportunities
Your account may be placed on hold or suspended
How to verify your identity
When prompted:
Click the secure verification link in your email or workflow
Follow the instructions provided by Persona (our verification provider)
Complete the process
Submitting falsified documents may result in permanent suspension and further action.
Important:
If you receive multiple requests, follow the most recent one
Verification is completed directly with Persona
Most results are returned within minutes
You can view your status in the same place where you were prompted to verify.
Types of Identity Verification
Depending on your situation, you may be asked to complete one or more of the following:
Government ID verification
Location verification (for certain roles)
ID + location verification (compliance-related)
Visual verification (selfie or short video)
Phone verification (SMS or call code)
Accepted Identification Documents
Accepted ID types vary by country and will be shown during verification. Common examples include:
Passport
Driver’s license
National ID card (NIC/CNIC)
Other valid government-issued photo IDs
Your ID must:
Include your name, photo, date of birth, and signature
Include your address (not required for passports)
Match your profile photo
Match the name and address on your profile
Not accepted:
Student, employee, or library cards
Temporary or paper IDs
Photocopies
Military or health cards
Handwritten or expired documents
ID Photo Requirements
To avoid issues during verification:
Place your ID on a flat surface
Take the photo from directly above
Use natural lighting (avoid flash and glare)
Ensure all four corners are visible
Keep the image clear, in color, and high quality
Save as PNG, JPEG, PDF, or BMP
Do not crop, edit, or alter the image
Preparation Requirements
Before starting, make sure you have:
A valid government-issued ID
A clear and current profile photo
Matching name across:
ID
Payment method
Tax information
A phone with a working camera

Your data is handled according to privacy and security standards
Your data is not sold
Only your verification status is shared — not your documents
Does IDV delay onboarding?
Most verifications are completed within minutes using automated processing.
What if I don't complete IDV?
If you don’t complete verification:
You cannot start or activate contracts
You may be restricted from applying to opportunities
Your account may be placed on hold or suspended
Who reviews my documents?
Persona performs automated reviews. Lifted only reviews cases if escalation or appeal is required.
Can I appeal an IDV decision?
If you believe your result was incorrect, contact Talent Support. Some cases may be eligible for further review.
Will I need to verify again?
You may be asked to re-verify due to:
Legal name changes
Suspicious activity
Unusual login patterns
Compliance requirements
