What It Means to Be Invited to a Lifted Job on Upwork
Last updated: May 18, 2026
If you received an invitation to a Lifted job that is advertised on the Upwork Marketplace, it means your profile was identified as a potential match for an opportunity with a Lifted client.
To view full job details and move forward, you’ll need to continue the process through the Lifted platform.
What to expect next
After clicking the invitation:
You’ll be asked to consent to share your Upwork profile details with Lifted, an Upwork Company™, so your Lifted account can be set up
Once you have an account, you can review the opportunity and submit a proposal on Lifted
If you move forward, you’ll be required to complete verification steps like identity and tax information
Once logged into your Lifted account, you can submit a proposal right away. If you’re interested in the opportunity, we recommend completing any required onboarding steps, such as tax information and initial verification checks, as early as possible. Identity verification may be required later in the process before you can begin work.
What is Lifted
Lifted is a platform that connects experienced talent with projects at enterprise companies. It supports structured engagements where onboarding, compliance, and payments are handled in one place.
For you, this means Lifted helps streamline parts of the process so you can stay focused on delivering your best work.
Lifted is separate from the Upwork Marketplace. While we may use the Upwork Marketplace, among other sources, to identify and invite talent, opportunities with Lifted clients are independently supported on the Lifted platform from job posting and proposals through payment.
Why you need a Lifted profile
Because the opportunities are with Lifted clients, you’ll need a Lifted profile to take part in the process.
This allows you to access project details, submit a proposal, and complete any required steps if you move forward.
What happens after you apply
After you submit a proposal, if your profile is a strong match, you may be contacted to move forward, which can include conversations with the client or additional evaluation steps.
If you’re selected, we’ll guide you through onboarding so you can get started.
Does it cost anything to join Lifted?
No. It’s free to join Lifted and apply to opportunities.
If you’re selected and complete work through Lifted, a service fee may apply depending on the engagement. Any applicable fees will be communicated before you begin working, so you know exactly what to expect.
Can I continue working on Upwork?
Yes. Lifted opportunities are generally non-exclusive, so you can continue working with other clients and platforms. If a scenario arises where accepting an opportunity on Lifted may impact your ability to use the Upwork Marketplace, you will be provided notice of this.
How does Lifted ensure my data remains secure?
We take your privacy and data security seriously. The transition process follows industry-standard security protocols to protect your personal and contract information. You can review Lifted’s Privacy Policy, available through Lifted’s Terms of Service, for more details.
Will my Upwork badges or Job Success Score transfer to my Lifted profile?
No. Your Upwork badges and Job Success Score (JSS) stay on Upwork and won’t appear on your Lifted profile.
However, you can highlight experience from other sources like Upwork when being considered for opportunities.
Why do I need to complete identity or tax verification?
Identity and tax verification are required to help keep the platform secure, meet legal and regulatory requirements, and ensure you can be paid for your work.
Identity verification helps confirm that you are who you say you are, which protects both talent and clients from fraud. Tax information is required to comply with applicable laws and enable payment processing.
You may not be able to move forward with an opportunity or receive payments until these steps are completed. Your information is handled securely and used only for verification and compliance purposes.
What if I don’t want to join Lifted?
If you choose not to create a Lifted profile or share your information, you won’t be able to move forward with opportunities with clients on Lifted.
You can continue working on Upwork as usual.
