What to Expect When Moving to Lifted

Last updated: May 27, 2026

If you have an active contract with a client that is transitioning from Upwork Enterprise to Lifted, your contract will move with that client.

To continue working with your client on Lifted, you’ll need to provide your consent to share your profile information with Lifted to create a user account and in accordance with Lifted’s Privacy Notice. This is a one-time step, and you’ll receive an email (as described below in “When will my contract move to Lifted?”) with instructions and timing.

You may also receive an invitation to Lifted if you’ve worked with the client before, have a pending offer or active proposal, or are part of the client’s BYO network. Depending on your situation, what moves to Lifted and what you need to do may look slightly different. Specific instructions will be included in your transition email.

What you’ll need to do

To continue working with your client through Lifted, you’ll complete a few quick setup steps after providing consent. Once your account is created, you’ll then:

About the transition

Learn why this is happening and what to expect next.

Why is my contract moving from Upwork Enterprise to Lifted, an Upwork Company?

Upwork Enterprise is now Lifted, an Upwork Companyone solution built for enterprises to source, contract, manage, and pay contingent talent.

Clients on Upwork Enterprise will gradually transition to the Lifted platform. If you currently work with clients on Upwork Enterprise, your active contracts will transition to Lifted with your clients.

When will my contract move to Lifted?

Transitions will take place in phases over the coming months. You’ll receive an email from donotreply@upwork.com when your client is scheduled to move to Lifted. It will include the timing, next steps, and any actions needed to ensure a smooth transition without interrupting your work.

If you work with multiple Upwork Enterprise clients, your contracts may transition at different times depending on each client’s schedule.

What happens if I don’t provide consent to create a Lifted account?

To continue working with your client through Lifted, you’ll need to provide consent to create a Lifted account.

If you don’t provide consent, you will not be able to work with the client through Lifted.

Setting up your Lifted account

Information about accessing and setting up your Lifted account.

Will my Lifted account use the same email address as my Upwork account?

Yes. Your Lifted account will be created using the same email address linked to your Upwork account, once you provide consent. You can update this email after your Lifted account is set up.

Will I need to complete an identity verification?

If you’ve already completed identity verification on Upwork and are continuing an active contract, you won’t need to verify again on Lifted.

If you don’t have an active contract, you won’t need to complete identity verification right away. You may be asked to verify your identity later depending on your activity on Lifted, such as starting work on a contract.

Who do I contact if I have questions during the transition?

You’ll have access to Lifted’s dedicated talent support team during your transition.

We’ll share how to contact talent support directly in your transition email, so you know exactly where to go if you need help.

How does Lifted ensure my data remains secure during the transition?

Lifted uses industry-standard security protocols to protect your personal and contract information. These safeguards are designed to ensure your information is handled securely. You can review Lifted’s Privacy Notice, available through Lifted’s Terms of Service, for more details.

Will my contract terms change when my contract moves to Lifted?

No. Your existing contract terms will remain the same when your contract moves.

What happens to work I’ve already completed or am currently working on?

Any work completed on your Upwork contract will be reviewed and paid through Upwork before your client moves to Lifted.

If you have work in progress before your client’s transition date, you’ll complete any remaining work on Upwork as outlined in your transition timeline. After that, you’ll continue your contract on Lifted once the move is complete.

When should I start using Lifted instead of Upwork for active contracts?

You can start working on Lifted on your contract transition date. You can find this date in the email you receive about the transition  to Lifted.

Until then, you can continue working on Upwork as usual.

Your contract won’t appear in Lifted before your transition date. On that date, your contract will become available in Lifted and your contract on Upwork will be administratively closed.

How will I communicate with my client after the transition?

How do I get access to my Upwork data for clients migrating to Lifted?

Your Upwork data will remain in your Upwork account. For any work completed before moving to Lifted, you can log into Upwork to access your contracts, earnings, messages, and work history. Historical Upwork data is not shared, and any new contracts going forward will be managed in Lifted.

Will my Upwork work history and earnings carry over to my Lifted profile?
