Last updated: May 17, 2026

You can message your clients directly within Lifted. Messaging is available for both direct conversations and active contracts, giving you one place to manage communication throughout your work.

Receiving direct chats

Clients can start direct conversations with you at any time.

When a direct chat is created:

  • The conversation appears in All Chats

  • You can continue the conversation from the messaging experience at any time

Starting a contract chat

You can start a contract conversation directly from the Contract page.

When a contract chat is created:

  • A direct conversation is created between you and the client

  • The conversation appears in the Contract Chat tab on the contract

  • The conversation is also available in All Chats

  • Clients can continue the conversation from their side as well

Contract chats help you coordinate work, updates, and questions throughout the contract lifecycle.

Using All Chats

All Chats gives you a centralized place to manage conversations across Lifted.

From All Chats, you can:

  • View active conversations

  • Switch between chats

  • Continue conversations from one place

You can access All Chats from the top navigation bar.

Chat names include helpful context when available, such as the related job post or contract name. You can also open the related page directly from the chat.

Notifications

When you receive a new message:

  • You’ll receive an in-platform notification in Lifted

  • You may also receive an email notification if you’re not actively viewing the conversation

You can return to All Chats any time to continue a conversation.
